Product Description
Red Dragon Express
Weight: 197g
Length: 2900mm ( 9' 8" )
Casting : 20-60g
As far as I am concerned this rod is the big daddy of the plugging world. Its weight range is 20-60g, it'll throw anything you'll need around the UK.
This rod is for serious pluggers that work hard and fish hard. The rod of choice of Henry Gilbey, Graham Hill and Trevor Sangan, 3 of the hardest working shore plug enthusiasts that I have ever fished with. This rod is the Land Rover of the Tenryu range, it will turn big fish and bully them into submission.
It can punch big plugs into rough weather and still it is sensative enough to work your lure perfectly. It is of the same concept as the Red Ultimate One but it has 20% more power in the first two thirds of its blank. In saying this it also is capable of throwing smaller lures of 10-20g as long as you have a good casting technique and can really whip your lures out there.
This is a shore fishing rod that will handle big rough seas and not give up the ghost when waves are pulling and tugging your lure all over the place, you will keep control of the lure. In saying this though it still is a precission piece of equipment and should always be respected. If you have a fish at your feet make sure you give it slack line as not to bend the tip of the rod around too much as the sensative tip will be vunerable. Common sense prevails, and I imagine if you are using this rod you are an experienced angler.
Fitted with 9 Fuji SIC Titanium "Guide concept" rings, a Fuji reelseat and high density foam grips, this equal sectioned spigot rod is a beast in a pretty red dress!!
Note the picture of the thickness of a Tenryu rod section compared to another good quality rod section.
